Assistant Professor

George is the head of the Global Rivers Group at Virginia Tech. He studies surface water resources using remote sensing, geospatial analysis, models, and fieldwork. In particular, his work focuses on the impacts of climate and land-use change on river systems at the global scale. See the Research Page for information about ongoing projects in the Global Rivers Group. Apart from research and mentoring, George enjoys gardening, traveling, cycling, and roughing it on long backpacking trips.
